Screening for known exposure: Patients have been notified that they must report

Any fever over 100 degrees

Any of the following symptoms:

Cough &\or Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Or at least two of these symptoms: Fever • Chills • Repeated shaking with chills • Muscle pain • Headache • Sore throat • New loss of taste or smell

Any close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual in the last 14 days
Policies & Procedures for screening: In addition to above, health care providers will

Inquire about any travel outside the country in the last 14 days

Restrict scheduling procedures for 14 days after contact with a positive case

Require a negative COVID test result after symptoms before returning for care
Companion policy: Patients companions must wait outside to increase social distancing unless necessary for the patients well-being, pediatric guardians, behavioral, intellectual, developmental disabilities, mental health or physical disability assistance is required.
All patients, visitors & staff must wear face masks that cover both mouth & nose unless prevented from doing so by a medical condition
Upon entry, all persons should immediately utilize the hand sanitizing station
Scheduling appointments is mandatory to improve social distancing & reduce wait times

Social distancing: Abide by the policies outlined by the CDC
Specific measures taken to increase Social Distancing:
Waiting Room

Convert the play room to a second waiting room w\ fresh air

Option to be contacted by phone when clinician is ready

50% staff reduction in clinical treating areas
Scheduling: It is now mandatory to schedule to reduce high traffic times & waiting
Signage: CDC & DPH public health measures will be posted in multiple areas
Cleaning & Disinfecting: Mandatory sanitization procedures as follows

Establishment of a hand sanitizer station on the front desk

Hourly disinfectant spray of waiting room chairs & all office door handles

Disinfectant spray of keyboards & work spaces before & after shift change

Hospital grade disinfectant of tables & chairs in the treatment room in addition to all equipment used after every patient contact.

Removal of all tablecloths, use of towels or paper at patient head placement areas.

Washing of all pillowcases, towels after every patient use
-
Washing \ Hand sanitizer use by all employees before and after patient contact

End of day sanitization of all equipment including electrical stimulation, ultrasound machines, bottles of cleaner, lotion, gel, stools, computers etc.
Workforce \ Workplace Safety Policy & Protocol
PPE: Saugus Family Chiropractic & Physical Therapy has secured PPE & cleaning supplies from MeyerPT & a local manufacturer of masks with stock located at the front desk for patient & employee use.
Health care providers & all staff must wear facemasks in all areas that can be occupied by patients & in office spaces where social distancing <6’ is not possible
Treatment space restrictions: Only the designated treating provider for the designated chiropractic or physical therapy spaces is allowed to be present while patients are receiving services.
Screening: All employees are required to report the following to the chiropractor or physical therapist prior to entering the facility

Employee safety policies: All employees are required to adopt the following measures

Temperature must be taken at home on a daily basis prior to coming to work

Travel abroad is restricted

Must use hand sanitizer or \ soap immediately upon entering the building but also after contact with a shared surface such as a door knob, keyboard

Contact with a patient or their belongs such as paperwork, ipads

Abide by the Infection Control Policy & Procedures
Social distancing: Each staff member has been provided their own office space
Notification: We will prominently educate & post all policies & procedures for employee safety, patient safety, infection control protocols in addition to the mandatory Massachusetts state safety standards for workplaces, CDC guidelines for preventing the spread of germs & Massachusetts Covid-19 Control Plan attestation poster.
